Dihexa is a synthetic peptide with the chemical name N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide, and it is structurally related to angiotensin IV, a naturally occurring peptide fragment. Researchers developed it as a modified analog intended to alter stability and activity relative to the parent peptide. Its short sequence and fatty acid chain distinguish it from many endogenous peptides, and published studies often describe it under the abbreviation dihexa. The compound is classified as a laboratory compound rather than an approved therapeutic in most jurisdictions.
Early laboratory work focused on its effects on synaptic connectivity and neuronal signaling. In cell and animal models, dihexa has been reported to promote the formation of new synapses, a process called synaptogenesis. These findings have generated interest in cognitive research, but the evidence base remains mostly preclinical. Human clinical trials with clear safety and efficacy endpoints are limited or absent in the public literature. Whether these effects translate to humans is an open question.
Most published work on dihexa consists of preclinical studies using cell cultures or rodents. Reports have described effects on synaptic connectivity and performance on cognitive tasks in some animal models. These findings are generally presented as preliminary and require independent replication. Study designs, doses, and outcome measures vary across experiments, which complicates direct comparison. No large controlled human trials have established efficacy or safety for any medical use. At present, the evidence base is limited.
Regulatory agencies have not approved dihexa as a prescription drug or supplement. In many countries it falls into a gray area when sold for laboratory research. Buyers may encounter products marketed for research use only, which are not intended for human consumption. Purity and identity can vary between suppliers and batches. Certificates of analysis and independent testing are often recommended for research materials. Documentation helps verify what a vial contains.
Discussion of dihexa in online communities sometimes outpaces the scientific record. Anecdotal reports are difficult to verify and may not distinguish effects from placebo or expectation. The absence of approved human data means long-term risks remain unknown. Researchers continue to investigate related compounds and pathways. Open questions include whether animal findings translate to humans and which biological targets matter most. No consensus exists on these points. Current reviews emphasize the need for rigorous clinical research.

The compound has been examined in animal models for effects on learning, memory, and synaptic connectivity. Some reports describe increased dendritic spine density and improved performance on certain behavioral tasks after administration in rodents. These findings are often cited in discussions of nootropic research peptides, but replication across independent laboratories remains limited. The absence of published phase 1 or phase 2 clinical trial data makes it difficult to assess safety, effective routes, or long-term outcomes in humans. Consequently, claims about cognitive benefits in people remain speculative.
Dihexa is not approved as a medicine in major regulatory jurisdictions. It is commonly sold as a research chemical for laboratory use, though such products may not be standardized or independently verified. Scientific literature on dihexa includes in vitro assays, rodent studies, and reviews that discuss its proposed mechanism. The distinction between peer-reviewed findings and commercial promotion is important when evaluating available information. Open questions include its precise binding interactions, pharmacokinetics, and whether animal results translate to human biology.
Discussion in the literature often separates direct receptor activation from downstream growth-factor modulation. Dihexa is not simply an angiotensin receptor blocker or a classic nootropic drug. Its proposed action may depend on endogenous HGF levels, which vary by tissue and physiological state. Questions remain about brain penetration, metabolic stability, and active metabolites. Reviews note that mechanistic claims should be treated as hypotheses until supported by independent studies. That distinction is important when interpreting promotional claims or early laboratory findings.
The leading hypothesis for dihexa centers on hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and its receptor, c-Met. In cell-based assays, dihexa has been reported to potentiate HGF-dependent signaling. That pathway influences cell growth, survival, and motility. Because c-Met signaling is widespread, the proposed mechanism is broad rather than specific to neurons. The exact binding site and stoichiometry remain areas of active investigation, and independent replication is limited. This uncertainty limits firm conclusions about how the compound acts in living organisms.
Animal studies have examined dihexa in models of cognitive impairment, synaptic plasticity, and memory. Some reports describe improved performance on maze or avoidance tasks after administration. These findings are preclinical and often involve small samples, varied routes, and differing formulations. Results in rodents do not establish effects in humans. The absence of published randomized controlled trials in people is a major gap in the evidence base. Observational reports and user accounts do not substitute for controlled clinical data.
Development of dihexa followed from studies on angiotensin IV analogs and their effects on learning and memory. Researchers sought compounds with improved metabolic stability and brain penetration compared with natural peptides. In preclinical reports, dihexa was associated with changes in synaptic connectivity and performance on spatial tasks. These findings generated interest in its potential as a cognitive research tool. The work remains largely preclinical, and independent replication has been limited.
Regulatory and commercial contexts differ from clinical medicine. Dihexa is not approved as a drug by major agencies, and no published human trials establish its safety or efficacy. It is often sold as a research chemical labeled for laboratory use only. Suppliers may provide certificates of analysis, but purity and identity depend on the specific batch. Legal status varies by country and may treat such compounds as unapproved substances for human consumption.
Reported effects of dihexa are often described in terms of synaptogenesis, a process by which neurons form new synaptic connections. This concept is biologically plausible but difficult to measure directly in living humans. Animal behavioral tests can suggest memory or learning changes, yet such tests have limitations and may not translate to people. The literature includes conflicting or incomplete findings, and some studies are small. As a result, the mechanism remains a subject of investigation rather than a settled explanation.
The proposed mechanism of dihexa involves activation of hepatocyte growth factor and its receptor, c-Met. In cell models, this signaling pathway is associated with dendritic spine formation and synaptic reorganization. Dihexa is described as a stabilized analog of angiotensin IV, which also interacts with related systems. However, the precise binding profile and downstream effects remain incompletely characterized. Most mechanistic evidence comes from in vitro assays and rodent studies rather than human trials.
=== Yugoslavia === On 29 November 1945, the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia was proclaimed. It was under Soviet influence in the final months of the war and the first few post-war years, Stalin declared it outside the Soviet sphere of interest on several occasions, treating it like a satellite state. The contrast with the rest of Eastern Europe was underscored ahead of a Soviet offensive in October 1944. Tito's Partisans supported the offensive, which ultimately pushed the Wehrmacht and its allies out of northern Serbia and captured Belgrade. Marshal Fyodor Tolbukhin's Third Ukrainian Front had to request formal permission from Tito's provisional government to enter Yugoslavia and had to accept Yugoslav civil authority in any liberated territory. which maintained its claims against Italy and Austria. The territorial dispute in the northwest part of Istria peninsula and around the city of Trieste caused the Treaty of Peace with Italy to be delayed until 1947, and establishment of the independent Free Territory of Trieste. This did not satisfy Tito as he sought revisions of the borders around Trieste and in Carinthia prompting the Western Allies to keep a garrison in Trieste to prevent Yugoslav takeover. Tito's continued insistence on acquisition of Trieste was also seen by Stalin as an embarrassment to the Italian Communist Party.
=== Sézary cells === Sézary cells are bigger than Lutzner cells, and have an overabundance of cellular folds in the membrane. They are also considered over pigmented and have large cerebriform nuclei with a small cytoplasm. Sézary cells are found in both mycosis fungoides and Sézary disease.
Preclinical testing consists of animal pharmacology and toxicology studies to assess whether the drug is safe for testing in humans. Also included are any previous experience with the drug in humans (often foreign use). Manufacturing Information includes composition, manufacturer, and stability of, and the controls used for, manufacturing the drug. Used to ensure that the company can adequately produce and supply consistent batches of the drug. Investigator information on the qualifications of clinical investigators, that is, the professionals (generally physicians) who oversee the administration of the experimental drug to the study subjects. Used to assess whether the investigators are qualified to fulfill their clinical trial duties. Clinical trial protocols are the centerpiece of the IND. Detailed protocols for proposed clinical studies to assess whether the initial-phase trials will expose the subjects to unnecessary risks. Other commitments are commitments to obtain informed consent from the research subjects, to obtain a review of the study by an institutional review board (IRB), and to adhere to the investigational new drug regulations. An IND application must also include an Investigator's Brochure intended to educate the trial investigators of the significant facts about the trial drug they need to know to conduct their clinical trial with the least hazard to the subjects or patients. Once an IND application is submitted, the FDA has 30 days to object to the IND or it automatically becomes effective and clinical trials may begin.

Biden was consistently ranked one of the least wealthy members of the Senate, which he attributed to having been elected young. Feeling that less-wealthy public officials may be tempted to accept contributions in exchange for political favors, he proposed campaign finance reform measures during his first term. While a senator, Biden was viewed as being close to the credit card company MBNA, a major contributor to his campaigns since 1989, sometimes being called the "senator from MBNA". As of November 2009, Biden's net worth was $27,012. By November 2020, the Bidens were worth $9 million, largely due to sales of Biden's books and speaking fees after his vice presidency. Political columnist David S. Broder wrote that Biden has grown over time: "He responds to real people—that's been consistent throughout. And his ability to understand himself and deal with other politicians has gotten much, much better." Journalist James Traub has written that "Biden is the kind of fundamentally happy person who can be as generous toward others as he is to himself". Particularly since the 2015 death of his elder son Beau, Biden has been noted for his empathetic nature and ability to communicate about grief. Journalist and TV anchor Wolf Blitzer has called Biden loquacious; journalist Mark Bowden has said that he is famous for "talking too much", leaning in close "like an old pal with something urgent to tell you". He often deviates from prepared remarks, and sometimes "puts his foot in his mouth". Biden has a reputation for being prone to gaffes.
==== Francesco Giorgi ==== Francesco Giorgi is the former parliamentary assistant and domestic partner of Eva Kaili. He was arrested in December 2022 before being released with an electronic tag in February 2023 having agreed a deal with the prosecutor to reveal details of the illegal organisation. According to his LinkedIn profile, Giorgi studied political science at the University of Milan. Giorgi started his relationship with Kaili in 2017. At the time Giorgi worked as an assistant at the European Parliament to Antonio Panzeri. Giorgi and Kaili have a child together. Giorgi was arrested by Belgian authorities mid-December 2022 in the context of the Qatargate scandal. He admitted having accepted bribes and alleged his partner Kaili was not directly involved in the corruption scheme. Giorgi is alleged to have helped channel funds from Qatar and Morocco to influence European institutions through setting up the association Fight Impunity together with Antonio Panzeri. In February 2023 Giorgi was released from prison with an electronic tag. Italian prosecutors have initiated an investigation in March 2023 into activities of two unnamed suspects who would have acted as collaborators of Antonio Panzeri and Giorgi. The Italian investigation related to a company called Equality Consultancy in Milan set up by a former accountant of Antonio Panzeri and Giorgi's father Luciano and brother Stefano in 2018. The brother and father of Giorgi left the company after a year and are not being investigated by Italian authorities.

Due to its high fission yield, relatively long half-life, and mobility in the environment, technetium-99 is one of the more significant components of nuclear waste. Measured in becquerels per amount of spent fuel, it is the dominant producer of radiation in the period from about 104 to 106 years after the creation of the nuclear waste. The next shortest-lived fission product is samarium-151 with a half-life of 94.6 years, though a number of actinides produced by neutron capture have half-lives in the intermediate range.
The making of eight ounces of purified insulin could require as much as two tons of pig parts. Insulin from these sources is effective in humans as it is highly similar to human insulin (three amino acid difference in bovine insulin, one amino acid difference in porcine). Initially, lower preparation purity resulted in allergic reactions to the presence of non-insulin substances. Purity has improved steadily since the 1920s ultimately reaching purity of 99% by the mid-1970s thanks to high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods. Minor allergic reactions still occur occasionally, even to synthetic "human" insulin varieties. Beginning in 1982, biosynthetic "human" insulin has been manufactured for clinical use through genetic engineering techniques using recombinant DNA technology. Genentech developed the technique used to produce the first such insulin, Humulin, but did not commercially market the product themselves. Eli Lilly marketed Humulin in 1982. Humulin was the first medication produced using modern genetic engineering techniques in which actual human DNA is inserted into a host cell (E. coli in this case). The host cells are then allowed to grow and reproduce normally, and due to the inserted human DNA, they produce a synthetic version of human insulin. Manufacturers claim this reduces the presence of many impurities. However, the clinical preparations prepared from such insulins differ from endogenous human insulin in several important respects; an example is the absence of C-peptide which has in recent years been shown to have systemic effects itself.

=== Industrial === EDTA is mainly used to sequester (bind or confine) metal ions in aqueous solution. In the textile industry, it prevents metal ion impurities from modifying colours of dyed products. In the pulp and paper industry, EDTA inhibits the ability of metal ions, especially Mn2+, from catalysing the disproportionation of hydrogen peroxide, which is used in chlorine-free bleaching.
=== Replacement therapy === GH is used as replacement therapy in adults with GH deficiency of either childhood-onset or adult-onset (usually as a result of an acquired pituitary tumor). In these patients, benefits have variably included reduced fat mass, increased lean mass, increased bone density, improved lipid profile, reduced cardiovascular risk factors, and improved psychosocial well-being. Long acting growth hormone (LAGH) analogues are now available for treating growth hormone deficiency both in children and adults. These are once weekly injections as compared to conventional growth hormone which has to be taken as daily injections. LAGH injection 4 times a month has been found to be as safe and effective as daily growth hormone injections.

Dihexa is a synthetic peptide analog of angiotensin IV, often described as an HGF mimetic in research literature. It is studied for effects on synaptic connectivity in laboratory models. It is not an approved medication.
No, dihexa is a synthetic compound derived from the structure of angiotensin IV. Angiotensin IV occurs naturally, but dihexa has modifications that change its properties. It is not a standard dietary component.
The main hypothesis is that dihexa interacts with the hepatocyte growth factor system, possibly through c-Met signaling. This interaction may influence synaptogenesis and neuronal plasticity. The exact molecular target remains an active area of study.
Published human trials are lacking. Most evidence comes from laboratory and animal studies. Therefore, human benefits and risks are not established.
